Join educators and artists from across New England who supplement their income by teaching adult beginners with us!  Slow River Studio is an innovative and fast growing art school specifically designed for adults.  Enjoy the opportunity to design and teach workshops and classes in your favorite mode of artistic expression. You can expect small classes of attentive, engaged, and enthusiastic students.  Imagine that for a minute.  Sounds fun, right?  It is!

Our engaging curriculum, teaching methods and studio events are all designed to develop artistic confidence and creativity - in an atmosphere of contagious joy.  Our beautiful Topsfield studio is filled with lots of supplies, natural light and possibility. Come teach with us!

COMPENSATION:
Starting compensation is $50 per teaching hour with regular increases based on class size and student retention.

We offer flexible short and long term class schedules, including evening and summer options.  You can teach a one-time workshop or a six-week class indoors, outdoors or even online.  We also have full time opportunities available for the right candidates.

QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for Enthusiastic, Reliable and Creative people who:

  • Enjoy making art and sustain a regular art practice through the inevitable highs and lows

  • Have some teaching experience (special education experience a plus) or have completed a teacher training program.

  • It’s a bonus if you have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), recovery support or life coaching

  • Submit a 1-3 minute video explaining the worst piece of art you’ve made within the last year. You can be on or off camera, but we must hear your voice explaining the piece of work and why it is the worst.  Don’t worry about the video quality.  Just send us what you make!

  • A digital portfolio link or a few samples of your work.

  • When you apply, please let us know how you heard about this job opportunity.
